Our original ideas for engaging employees

8 original ideas for engaging employees

STOP the monologues! What if we stopped talking to our employees and let our employees talk? 🥳 Make way for shared and, above all, embodied speaking!

Team We Are COM reveals its TOP formats that (really) free internal expression with fun and impact. 🚀 It's time to hand over the microphone to those who speak best about your business!

1 – Spontaneous testimony

The concept ? A face-to-face format, quite simply. Authenticity, humanity, commitment. Project, profession, pride, expertise... this expressive speech captures a sincere moment, a vision of the company embodied.

The team's tip? ???? For even more spontaneity and a little dose of quirkiness, why not have your colleagues draw surprise questions? “What is your superpower in meetings?” “Tell a funny story from your office?” or “If your team were a TV show, which one would it be?” Let your imagination run wild.

2 – The collaborative story

The concept ? Entrust the management of the company's Instagram account to one or more employees. 📸 This short, immersive, and lively format highlights the behind-the-scenes experience, showing the company's behind-the-scenes in an original way. Spoiler alert: younger generations love this type of format!

The team's tip? This format is infinitely reusable! If a concept works, then truly embrace it and encourage other collaborators to join in the fun.

3 – The internal podcast

The concept ? A podcast, yes, but a podcast hosted by employees! 🎧 This audio series can cover career paths, projects, corporate culture... and why not non-professional topics? This immersive format, which allows for the blending of narratives, testimonials, and debates, truly encourages active listening.

The team's tip? To test buy-in, create a small “listening committee.” This way, employees themselves will determine what will resonate internally. Clever, right?

4 – A wall of expression

The concept ? Whether real or virtual, this wall is a free space, dedicated to employee expression. Encourage employees to share their emotions and thoughts. This anonymous, simple, and inclusive inspirational wall creates an atmosphere of equality and trust within teams.

The team's tip? 🪅 Regularly suggest themes; this will ensure the renewal and enrichment of this format. “My surprise of the month”, “My mantra of the moment”, “My weather forecast of the day”…

5 – A contributory newsletter

The concept ? Include a "Speak to your employees" section in your internal (and perhaps external) newsletters. This section provides immediate and highly rewarding visibility to those who are not used to speaking out.

The team's tip? This contributory section can also take the form of an open question. "Should emails be banned after 18 p.m.?" All that's left is to publish the results in the next issue and start again. 😁 And why not highlight the funniest answers?

6 – A pride selfie

The concept ? Ask employees to share a selfie of themselves, illustrating a success or a significant moment in their professional life. Similar to TikTok challenges, launch an internal hashtag that will allow everyone, individually or in teams, to share their favorites and promote them company-wide. It's simple, visual, and viral.

The team's tip? 🥸 To take the drama out of the “Instagrammable” side of the selfie and encourage #NoFilter, invite colleagues to share their most WTF photos too.

7 – A free intranet forum

The concept ? Invite your employees to play journalists. 💡 Offer them a space to express themselves on the company intranet. Whether this forum addresses careers or other current topics, diversity of thought and opinion promotes internal expertise while creating constructive debate.

The team's tip? To avoid overwhelm, provide your budding journalists with a very clear contribution charter and offer editorial support to those who would like it. And every year, why not organize a major competition for the best contributor?

8 – A contributory vote

The concept ? Speaking of elections, why not involve internal staff in some decision-making through collaborative voting? This format, easy to implement and highly engaging, allows for real co-construction power. However, be careful: if you ask your employees for their opinions, you must provide them with proof that they were listened to.

The team's tip? Contributory voting can be extremely useful for decision-making that affects external stakeholders. Are you undecided between two communications? 🪓 Survey internally and this will fundamentally guide you towards external expectations. Remember that an employee is, above all, a consumer.
