AI vision: communication in 2026 according to ChatGPT

AI vision: communication in 2026 according to ChatGPT

If AI could read the future…What would it tell us about our profession? 🤖  At We Are COMWe like to challenge viewpoints, even those of machines. So, for fun (and a bit of critical distance), We asked ChatGPT to act as oracles and predict the major communication trends in 2026..

Spoiler Some answers make you smile, others make you think. An exercise in projection at the crossroads of reality and virtuality, to be read as an inspirational interlude before the big annual event: the COM trends workshop by We Are COM.

Ready to discover how AI envisions our future? Let's see if she's (somewhat) right... Or completely wrong! 😉

#1 – Hyperpersonalization through generative AI

🤖 The trend explained by ChatGPT:

Thanks to generative AI, brands create highly targeted content, tailored to each segment, or even each individual. Videos, emails, visuals: everything will be customized, automated, but with a human touch. The user experience becomes profoundly unique.

🚀 We Are COM's interpretation:

Paradoxically, could the use of artificial intelligence (re)humanize communications?

Mass industrial communication seems to be giving way to more artisanal practices, even on a large scale. Because, yes, In an increasingly impersonal world, personalization makes all the difference. What ChatGPT is trying to tell us is that we'll need to learn to juggle algorithmic precision and emotional accuracy. It's time to train in AI, and fast!

#2 – The rise of “live” content

🤖 The trend explained by ChatGPT:

Live streaming is emerging as the king of formats. Live shopping, hybrid events, real-time podcasts… In response to the saturation of polished and heavily marketed content, the public wants something real, raw, spontaneous, embodied, and interactive.

🚀 We Are COM's interpretation:

By 2026, consumers no longer want to witness experiences; they want to live them. Communication must co-write its story with its audience. Ultimately, AI anticipates a world where relationships are valued more than perfection.

But be warned, a live performance also requires solid preparation!

#3 – Employee advocacy as a strategic lever

🤖 The trend explained by ChatGPT:

People no longer believe in brands; they believe in the people within brands. The era of testimonials is taking precedence over that of institutional messaging: employees are becoming the brand's primary ambassadors. By 2026, employee advocacy programs will be integrated into overall communication strategies.

🚀 We Are COM's interpretation:

Authentic influence is transversal; it emanates from peers, colleagues, insiders… To speak the truth, nothing beats a voice you believe in, a sincere and legitimate voice, which comes from within.

More than ever, communicators will need to train, inspire and encourage employees to speak up as ambassadors.

#4 – Responsible communication by default

🤖 The trend explained by ChatGPT:

Eco-design, digital sobriety, inclusion… By 2026, irresponsible communication will be a real reputational risk. We are entering an era of ecological, social, and digital uncertainty. Audiences have become vigilant and expect communication to be clean, clear, and responsible. Otherwise, it is disqualified.

🚀 We Are COM's interpretation:

Responsibility is no longer an option; it must be the starting point of all communication. Even AI understands that today reputation is no longer solely based on what we say, but on the impact we leave behind. (That's putting it mildly). In fact, responsible communication is not a trend, it's a real requirement.

#5 – The advent of conversational communication

🤖 The trend explained by ChatGPT:

The power of speech has become democratized: the public wants to engage in dialogue, not just listen. Top-down communication is no longer relevant in a society where everyone wants to be heard. Intelligent chatbots, voice assistants, automated DMs: the relationship between a brand and its audience is now built on conversation. It's becoming continuous, multichannel, and real-time.

🚀 We Are COM's interpretation:

So we say goodbye to long corporate monologues! Communicators must become guarantors of dialogue : of an ongoing conversation between the brand and its consumers. ChatGPT understands that tomorrow's communication will be geared towards exchange rather than discourse.

#6 – The Rise of Immersive Audio Content

🤖 The trend explained by ChatGPT:

The voice recreates intimacy in a world overloaded with screens. Audio becomes a refuge, a calm and personal format, running counter to the ambient “visual” noise.

Podcasts, sound branding, voice search: audio content is playing a major role in strategies. By 2026, voice will be a fully-fledged brand medium.

🚀 We Are COM's interpretation:

Confucius said " A picture is worth a thousand words "We want to say " A sound is worth a thousand words. ». Audio offers a rare level of intimacyA lasting commitment and memorable emotional experiences. A narrative trend to watch closely!

#7 – Emotional data in the service of creation

🤖 The trend explained by ChatGPT:

Thanks to AI, brands can analyze the emotions generated by their campaigns. The result: content calibrated to resonate emotionally. Now, data is no longer just used for optimization; it's used to evoke emotion.

🚀 We Are COM's interpretation:

In the age of hyper-emotionality, Rational communication is no longer enough: it is necessary to touch, to resonate and above all to make people feel. By combining the warmth of emotions with the coldness of performance measurements, communication has the opportunity to take part in a revolution of creation, one that is both more intuitive and more human.

It is reassuring to know that ChatGPT envisions a future where data will no longer be just quantitative, but qualitative and emotional.

#8 – The return of long… but useful content

🤖 The trend explained by ChatGPT:

Going against the grain of instant gratification, audiences are demanding substance: white papers, long-form content, in-depth storytelling. Snackable content is no longer enough. A growing segment of the public is looking for content that takes its time, that explains, that builds. It's a form of resistance to the speed of digital.

🚀 We Are COM's interpretation:

Clearly, slow content has a future. Provided, of course, that it offers its readers real added value. Artificial intelligence (which sees everything) seems to be detecting an increase in background research. Faced with this weariness of channel surfing, let's give our content more depth.

#9 – Gamification of corporate campaigns

🤖 The trend explained by ChatGPT:

Games, quizzes, interactive challenges… Gamification is making its way into B2B, HR, and CSR initiatives. A fun way to engage people differently. Faced with the complexity of the world, games offer a way to make the incomprehensible understandable.

🚀 We Are COM's interpretation:

At We Are COM, we are convinced: play is a great mediation strategyWe play to learn, to understand, and to interact. So this year, it's decided: let's dare to use playful and unconventional mechanics to highlight serious issues.

#10 – An increasingly essential communication strategy for leaders

🤖 The trend explained by ChatGPT:

Citizens demand vision, not just numbers. They expect leaders to embody convictions, assert their positions, and commit to action. Management must speak out on their behalf: social media, opinion pieces, podcasts… More than ever, communication must be taken seriously!

🚀 We Are COM's interpretation:

In 2026, leadership-communication becomes trendy. Leaders are simultaneously faces, voices, and points of reference. It's up to communications professionals to support them in making their messages impactful, aligned, and inspiring. Yes, leading also means expressing oneself!
