#1 – Burger King VS McDonald’s

🍔 A master of brand clashes, we couldn't possibly open this list without Burger King. The fast-food chain outdoes itself campaign after campaign to denigrate its long-time rival, McDonald's. Our favorite clash? Definitely this one. COM, as intelligent as it is irreverent, which plays the game to the very end.  

The good idea? Viewing competitors as narrative levers, whose codes can be taken up, subverted, or even caricatured.  

#2 – Audi VS the rest of the automotive industry

Cult classic! There is no other word to describe this ultra-powerful minimalist visual clash campaign. 🚗 Without a slogan, Audi engages in refined confrontation and demonstrates thatA truly good idea can exist without a budget. Remember! 

The good idea? The famous less is moreSaying less to have a greater impact. A beautiful way to assert a premium positioning with elegance and intelligence.  

#3 – Pepsi VS Coca-Cola

Seasoned experts in conflict, cola brands are waging a merciless war, in which the narratives feed off each other. a textbook case of deliberate polarization generates an extraordinary generational engagement. (I.e. And since we had to choose just one, here's the team's favorite!  

The good idea? Making competition a permanent narrative engine, capable of fueling creativity year after year. Ultimately, this simultaneously strengthens the DNA of both brands.  

#4 – DHL VS the rest of the parcel delivery world

Don't they say that all true learning comes through experience? 📦 Here, The clash is not shown or narrated; it is proven by the action.The results? Maximum credibility, incredible natural virality, and a memorable event. 

The good idea? Turn your competitors into life-size demonstration platforms, into media outlets despite themselves! Remember: in communication, providing evidence is always an excellent idea. 

#5 – Samsung VS Apple

Samsung chooses to present its competitor as functional counterpoint in this campaign that is 100% focused on user experience. 📱 By taking on Apple, the South Korean brand subtly reaffirms its promise of simplicity and seamlessness. A masterful demonstration, watch!  

The good idea? Don't compare the specific features of your products, but the specific features of their uses. Talking about user experience creates even more closeness and understanding with them. 

#6 – Adidas VS Nike

👟 The two sister sports brands practice the clash with art. In this slightly dated commercial, the brilliant idea itself hasn't gone out of style. But we won't say any more, just watch and enjoy! 

 The good idea? Exposing what goes on behind the scenes.  

#7 – McDonald’s VS Burger King

Burger King attacks, but McDonald's knows how to respond. By adopting a reassuring posture of a well-established leader, the fast-food giant reminds everyone that it has nothing to prove. (I.e. Well yes, When you dominate the market, there's no need to make a big deal out of it. 

The good idea? Playing the card of benevolent self-deprecation. Simplicity and humor, what more could you ask for?  

#8 – Heetch VS Uber

🚕 An urban feel, generational codes, and a good dose of irony: that's the perfect recipe Heetch delivers in this... original social media spotWant to experience Uber without using Uber? It's possible with the promo code UBEETCH.  

The good idea? Repurpose a promo code to turn social media into a battleground for creative clashes and generate real-time engagement. #BrandBatter 

#9 – BMW VS Mercedes-Benz

Clash yes, but clash premium with this campaign which reveals the inside story of the well-deserved retirement of the CEO of Mercedes-Benz. (I.e. And you, what is the first thing you would do upon feeling "finally free", as this clever advertisement proclaims?  

The good idea? Teasing, but with respect. This communication demonstrates that even the luxury sector can afford irony, as long as it remains aligned with the brand's DNA.  

#10 - Apple VS Microsoft

Probably the most significant series of clashes in advertising history  ! 💻 Throughout the 90s, Apple repeatedly teased its rival Microsoft in a series of commercials contrasting the innovative Mac with the bulky PC. A masterclass in embodied storytelling, over time.  

The good idea? Don't just sell a product, sell a real personality.  

BONUS – Brico Dépôt VS IKEA

More recently, Brico Dépôt gently mocked the Swedish giant. 🪛 A campaign that caught the attention of the We Are COM team and fueled our major benchmark of communication trends in 2026. 

The good idea? Clashing without a frontal attack. Brico Dépôt reminds us that brand clashes can also be cultural. ????
