In journalism, an editorial (also called “editorial”) is a commentary article that reflects the position taken by the editorial staff on a topical issue. It can be positioned in the first pages of a newspaper, to take sides on a topical theme or as an introduction to a specialized dossier. The editorial should not be confused with "mood" posts in which journalists make their personal expression known, for example using the first person singular.
