In journalism, an editorial (also called an "editorial") is a commentary article that reflects the editorial team's position on a current issue. It can be positioned in the front pages of a newspaper, to take a stand on a current issue or as an introduction to a specialized report. The editorial should not be confused with "mood" pieces in which journalists express their personal expression by using, for example, the first person singular.
