The digital divide refers to the gap between individuals with access to the Internet and those without, which has a significant impact on access to information and culture. This “divide” can exist between countries, but also within each of them. It can be explained by technical reasons (lack of infrastructure), economic reasons (cost of Internet access), or cultural reasons (age of the populations concerned, lack of training).
