Definition: An online journalist (employee or freelance) is a journalist who works primarily for an internet medium that has no print equivalent. An online journalist must adapt their writing to web usage and adopt a simple, concise, and clear style. The Professional Journalists' Identity Card Commission (CCIJP) recognizes this specific status, provided, however, that they produce information for the general public based on journalistic work that meets the same standards as these two "classic" journalists.
