Definition: Paf means “French audiovisual landscape”. The expression "PAF" appeared in the early 1980s when state supervision of radio and television was lifted, allowing private investors to develop new radios or television channels with free or paid access. By extension, this expression refers to all French television and radio journalists, even those in the public service.
