Peer-to-peer (P2P)

Definition: Peer to peer (P2P) is a network model where each device plays an equal role to that of other devices. This operating system is opposed to the client / server mode of communication. From their computer, each user is connected to the network. Peer to peer has made it possible to exchange files between Internet users, in particular multimedia files containing protected works, in violation of intellectual property rights. In France, the HADOPI law aims to protect this content by using means of dissuasion (graduated sanction, warning then suspension of the Internet connection until legal proceedings).
