obituary

Definition: An obituary is an article devoted to the announcement of a death. A “necro” is therefore an article devoted to a personality after his death and taking up the salient points of his biography. Often prepared in advance to be available as soon as the death of the personality occurs, it is stored in the “morgue”. Their position in the publication depends on the notoriety of the deceased. For the record, we can no longer count the obituaries that were published "in advance" by mistake. Let us note that in France, the obituaries very generally have a laudatory totality whereas in the United Kingdom the “necros” can be very critical vis-à-vis the deceased.
